Teaching for Understanding with Computers Course Instructor: Michael Partridge Fall 2009 Course Description: In this first MAET course I learned the many useful tools found within Microsoft Office's suite of programs. With the help of instructor Michael Partridge I explored Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to discover the many useful applications they offer for educators. It was in this class that I developed my first instructional resource using Microsoft Word. By the end of the class I could use all three of Microsoft's programs backwards and forwards. **Click here to view a Library Scavenger Hunt I created using Microsoft Word.** |

Adapting Innovative Technology to Education Course Instructor: Melissa White Spring 2010 Course Description: With the help of instructor Melissa White this course introduced me to several new and innovative online resources to make students classroom experience technologically rich. I also delved deeper into the many uses of Microsoft Word, Excel, and especially PowerPoint. I created my first STAIR project in CEP 811. Applying Educational Technology to Problems Course Instructor: Melissa White Spring 2010 Course Description: This course with instructor Melissa White focused on the technological issues facing many schools. We were asked to pick a particular technology and address its potential benefits and liabilities within the classroom setting. I chose to look at Amazon's Kindle and its "text to speech" capabilities as an aide to struggling 3rd Grade readers. The results of that study and my thoughts on the course as a whole can be viewed at my Techquest Website created in Weebly. ** Click here to visit my Techquest Website created in Weebly.** |
